Good morning, Team DMS!
With a new director, Queenell Fox, in place, our “Personnel” division is changing its name to “Human Resources” to more closely match Secretary South’s charge to “become the model human resources department for the state.” To bring us to that level, Queenell believes it is important that the department be recognized and operate as human resources (HR).
Personnel departments are known for hiring workers and serving as the record keepers for employee matters. HR departments and HR professionals in today’s organizations still provide those services with a broader scope that includes strategic planning, and operational and administrative functions like new employee orientation and name badges. When everything is in place, HR will be in a position to help ensure we achieve our 2008 priority of “making DMS a workplace of choice.”
The name change is effective immediately. Please help us spread the word by referring to our team as Human Resources as we move forward.
At the CCOC in Tallahassee, the HR team will also begin providing ID badges, instead of the Inspector General’s office. To get a name badge, visit the HR team in Building 4050, suite 260H:
- Mondays 1-4 p.m.
- Wednesdays 9-11 a.m.
- Fridays 9-11 a.m.
Call HR at 488-2707 if you have any questions about getting a name badge.
