Wireless Data Services: AirCard
AirCard Service is a non-proprietary TCP/IP based wireless data service traversing cellular and/or PCS commercial infrastructure. It is intended to provide mobile access TCP/IP data communications. With a wireless friendly VPN client used to encrypt all data communications, secure access to the State Intranet is consistent with established DMS policies.
Customers are able (if NOT connected to the State network or needing state Intranet access) to route their specific IP traffic across the Internet using their VPN.
