Dispatch

Dispatch operations are the responsibility of the Joint Task Force (JTF) member agencies with the Department of Management Services providing the radio infrastructure and technical assistance. Seven (7) dispatch centers, also known as Regional Communications Centers {RCCs}) are integrated with the Statewide Law Enforcement Radio System (SLERS). These centers provide dispatch support and officer tracking services for participating agencies. The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWCC) is co-located at six RCCs. The Joint Dispatch centers are managed by the Florida Highway Patrol with facilities, equipment and manpower provided by the participating agencies.

The RCCs and the FWCC dispatch center share a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system. Implemented in 2003, the system uses SmartCop software. It tracks all active and closed incidents for all JTF agencies using dispatch services. A master database is maintained of all radio users. A Geographic Information System (GIS) component provides duty officers with a graphical view of incident locations
