Minority Business Enterprise Certification Procedure
The process of becoming certified as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) with the Office of Supplier Diversity has recently been streamlined through the implementation of MyFloridaMarketPlace. Please review the eligibility criteria prior to proceeding to insure the business owner(s) meets eligibility.
To receive MBE certification, a business must first register with MyFloridaMarketPlace and go to "New Vendor Registration". The vendor registration process allows a vendor to request minority certification and requires the vendor to identify its minority designation.
Once you register with MyFloridaMarketPlace, you must ensure that the contact information (telephone number, email address, billing contact, etc.) is up-to-date and current at all times. The Office of Supplier Diversity does not have access to make these updates for you.
Following completion of the registration process, the vendor must submit the required supporting documents to the OSD, supporting the claim of minority status 25 days after submitting an online request for MBE certification.
Mailing Address:
Office of Supplier Diversity
Department of Management Services
4050 Esplanade Way, Suite 380
Tallahassee,FL 32399
Failure to submit the required supporting documentation within 25 days will result in automatic denial of the request for MBE certification. The data entered by the vendor, with supporting documents, will be processed by the OSD who will notify the vendor of its decision.
After review, if the OSD determines that the vendor meets the requirements for MBE certification, the MBE certificate will be emailed to the vendor at the address listed in the 'Main Contact' section of the MyFloridaMarketPlace registration.
If the vendor’s MBE certification request is denied by the OSD the vendor will receive notification of the denial via postal delivery.
