Executive Director Meets Key Stakeholders

Last week, Torey Alston, the Executive Director for the Office of Supplier Diversity, attended several key meetings. On Tuesday, Alston met with Gary Johnson, Director of Minority, Women, and Small Enterprise Division (Leon County). During the meeting, both leaders discussed potential strategic partnership agreements, collaboration for future initiatives, and statewide certification reciprocity.

On Wednesday, Alston met with Terrence Hinson, Chairman of the Capital City Chamber of Commerce, Inc. During the meeting, both leaders discussed potential strategic partnership agreements, outreach initiatives in north Florida, and collaboration for future projects. Alston also met with Ecitrym Lamar, Executive Director of the Florida Legislative Black Caucus. During the meeting, both leaders discussed progress of diversity initiatives and involvement in the 2008 MatchMaker Conference and Trade Show.

On Thursday, Alston met with Sheldon Edwards, Minority and Small Business Enterprise Coordinator for Miami-Dade College. During the meeting, both leaders discussed current trends in supplier diversity, tracking and reporting of minority spending, and participation in the 2008 MatchMaker Conference and Trade Show.

These meetings were another round of outreach with stakeholders to discuss priorities and get feedback from various support groups. For more information on these meetings, please contact the office
