Kurt S. Browning
Secretary of the State of Florida
A native Floridian, Secretary of State Kurt Browning served as Pasco County's Supervisor of Elections for 26 years before being appointed by Governor Charlie Crist in 2006 to be Florida's 29th Secretary of State.
During his tenure as Supervisor of Elections, Secretary Browning was involved in Florida's elections community through service in leading state and national elections organizations. Secretary Browning has also been dedicated to civic service through many of Pasco County's community organizations.
Secretary Browning serves as Florida's Chief Cultural Officer and Chief Elections Officer, and is custodian of the official state seal. As Secretary, Browning also oversees corporate formation activities, public libraries, historic preservation and serves as the state's official record keeper.
Secretary Browning received a bachelor's degree in Political Science and a master's degree in Public Administration from the University of South Florida while also considering himself a Gator fan - as both sons have graduated from the University of Florida.
