TALLAHASSEE – Governor Charlie Crist today announced the following appointments:
COMMISSION ON DISABILITIES
Marc Buoniconti, 40, of Coral Gables, ambassador of The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis and president of The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis, appointed for a term beginning August 21, 2007, ending July 26, 2008.
Carol Ann Christopherson, 43, of Jacksonville, city letter carrier with United States Postal Services, appointed for a term beginning August 21, 2007, ending July 26, 2008.
Barbara Day, 65, of Lynn Haven, retired, appointed for a term beginning August 21, 2007, ending July 26, 2008.
Carlos Montas, 24, of Tallahassee, Florida State University student, appointed for a term beginning August 21, 2007, ending July 26, 2008.
Trueman Muhrer-Irwin, 24, of Tallahassee, disabled veteran, appointed for a term beginning August 21, 2007, ending July 26, 2008.
William Perry, 59, of Tallahassee, retired, appointed for a term beginning August 21, 2007, ending July 26, 2008.
Cheryl Stone, 56, of Orlando, medical technologist with Florida Hospital and consultant with Metroplan Orlando, as a representative of the Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged, appointed for a term beginning August 21, 2007, ending July 26, 2008.
Remer Wilson, 57, of Jacksonville, self employed, ADA Consultants of North East Florida, as a representative of Centers for Independent Living, appointed for a term beginning August 21, 2007, ending July 26, 2008.
Governor Crist will also appoint 10 additional members to the Commission on Disabilities from the following areas:
the Florida Department of Children and Families
the Florida Department of Health
the Florida Department of Education
the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration
the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities
the Florida Department of Elder Affairs
the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs
the Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation
the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation
the Statewide Advocacy Council
