In accordance with the Florida Efficient Government Act of 2006, Chapter 2006-224, Laws of Florida, the Council on Efficient Government is tasked with the authority to review, evaluate, and issue advisory reports on business cases submitted to the Council as specified in Section 287.0573, Florida Statutes.

A Public Trust to safeguard the health, safety, welfare and rights of the clients of those programs and services provided by the State of Florida health and human services delivery system from conditions or individuals that constitute a threat to our clients' civil and human rights.

On July 26, 2007, Governor Charlie Crist signed Executive Order 07-148, creating the Governor's Commission on Disabilities. Then in 2008, the Governor signed Executive Order 08-193 extending the Governor's Commission on Disabilities.

The Governor's Commission on Disabilities acts as a policy advising body, collecting, analyzing, advocating, and advising on issues involving persons with disabilities.

The Clearinghouse on Disability Information serves as an information and referral source connecting people with disabilities and advocated of people with disabilities to the resources they need that will assist with their issues.

The Office of Supplier Diversity's (OSD) function is to improve business and economic opportunities for Florida's minority, women, and service-disabled veterans businesses. OSD's efforts toward this goal can be categorized into four primary functions, namely, Certification of Business Enterprises, Compliance, Advocacy and Outreach, and Matchmaking Activities
