• Information Release 2008-129 - August 14, 2008, Distribution of the 2008 FRS Pension Plan Member Annual Statements (MAS) (distributed to all FRS Retirement Coordinators). This information release provides notification regarding distribution of the 2008 Member Annual Statements (MAS) to members of the FRS Pension Plan. These statements provide benefit projections and other information based on a vested member's actual service through June 30, 2008, and projected forward, for employees included in payroll reports for May and June of 2008. (Hybrid Plan members are included within the group receiving a MAS, but only for their Pension Plan service and benefit.) The notice clarifies who will and will not receive a MAS, and provides instructions regarding online employer access to individual statements and summary listings for their employees.
• Information Release 2008-128 - June 30, 2008, 2008 Legislation (distributed to all FRS Agency Heads and Retirement Coordinators). This information release describes major enactments of several bills passed by the Florida Legislature during the 2008 Regular Session that could affect members of the Florida Retirement System and other state-administered or locally administered retirement systems.
• Information Release 2008-127 - June 16, 2008, Retirement Contribution Rates for 2008/2009 (distributed to all FRS Agency Heads and Retirement Coordinators). This information release publishes contribution rates effective July 1, 2008 for active and renewed members of the FRS by plan and class code, including rates for the Retiree Health Insurance Subsidy (HIS) and the assessment for FRS administrative/educational costs. Rates are also provided for the Deferred Retirement Option Program (DROP) and other optional programs. Finally, this release includes a schedule of dates that contributions and payroll reports are due in FY 2008/09.
• Information Release 2008-126 - June 16, 2008, Forensic Employee Participation in the FRS Special Risk Class (distributed to all FRS Agency Heads and Retirement Coordinators of Law Enforcement Agencies and Medical Examiners' Offices). This information release describes the new criteria for forensic employees to be eligible for the Special Risk Class effective July 1, 2008. Employees that qualify for Special Risk Class membership under the new requirements effective July 1, 2008, must submit a new application, Form FR-415 (which is included with this information release); along with a current position description listing job duties and the percentage of time spent performing each duty.
• Information Release 2008-125 - May 23, 2008, Returned Member Annual Statements/Incorrect Addresses (distributed to all Payroll/Personnel Officers). This information release provides information about the increase in the total number of Member Annual Statements returned from the previous year and explains the steps necessary for FRS employers to maintain the most current addresses for their employees. The release includes information about expanding the online services and information delivery alternatives.
• Information Release 2008-124 - May 15, 2008, List Requests for Your DROP Participants (distributed to all FRS Agency Heads and Retirement Coordinators). This information release provides information concerning employers access to on-line information being expanded to include lists of their DROP participants who are still working. The release includes instructions on accessing this information and provides contact information to the Division for employers with questions about retrieving the information.
• Information Release 2008-123 - February 22, 2008, List Requests for Florida Retirement System Retirees (distributed to all FRS Agency Heads and Retirement Coordinators). This information release provides information concerning employers access to lists of FRS retirees being expanded to include FRS Pension Plan retirees. The release includes instructions on accessing this information and provides contact information to the Division for employers with questions about retrieving the FRS retiree lists.
