  1. What happens when I get this Error Message? “Error 623: The system could not find the phone book entry for this connection.”

    To correct this error, go to Tools in Internet Explorer (File; Edit; View; Favorites; Tools; Help), Internet Options. The Internet Options box should now appear. At the top click the “Connections” tab (General; Security; Privacy; Content; Connections; Programs; Advanced) and then select the “Never Dial a Connection” radio button.

  2. If I have one adapter, can I assign 2 IP addresses to that one adapter?

    Yes. Most adapters allow multiple IP addresses.

  4. What wireless systems / technologies does the Wireless VPN client support (e.g. GPRS, CDMA, etc.)?

  5. What happens when I get this Error Message? “The IBM Mobility client cannot use the value wvpn/tam.myflorida.gov for configuration perimeter gateway address. Dialer failed to open a Network Interface.”

    This means that you are not connecting to the Internet. Check your Internet connection by pinging 199.250.21.165. If you are not able to ping the IP address, check to make sure your wireless modem card is fully inserted in the PCMCIA slot. If it is, then the card may not be activated and you will need to call the Services Desk for further assistance.

  6. What is a locked account and what do I do about it?

    Typically, an account becomes locked after a certain number of incorrect passwords are entered. Less typically, an account may become locked if an agency is delinquent in paying for the account. If your account has become locked, call the Services Desk for further assistance.

  7. Can I change my assigned user password?

    User passwords are generated randomly by the Wireless VPN server and conform to state security policies. Therefore, the passwords cannot be changed.

  8. What is the Wireless VPN client (WECM)?

    The Wireless VPN client is IBM’s WebSphere EveryPlace Connection Manager (WECM). WECM is a mobility client designed especially for the wireless environment.

  9. How do I download the Wireless VPN client?

    Go to VPN Client Downloads to download the latest VPN Client software.

  10. How do I get my User Name and Password?

    User names are assigned by your technical contact or administrator. Passwords are randomly generated by the Wireless VPN Server and must be obtained either through your technical contact, administrator or the Services Desk.
