Establishing a connection with your SecurID key fob

Instructions for Windows 95/98 you will have a Dial-up connection icon called "RTS Dial-Up" (See picture below). It will either be already on your desktop or in the "Dial-up Networking" folder inside the "My computer" Folder. If it is in the "Dial-Up Networking" folder inside the "My Computer" Folder. If it is in the "Dial-up Networking" folder, you can paste a copy to your desktop for easier access.

Double-Click this Icon to establish a connection:

  • When the "Connect to " window appears do not enter your username or password just click connect.
  • After your modem dials and connects the window below should appear. If it does not, your connection is not configured correctly. Please review your RTS Dial up instructions for Windows 95/98. (This problem can probably be corrected by right clicking on the CITS Dial-up Icon and selecting properties. In the general properties windows select "configure at the bottom left, then select the options tab in the "Modem Properties" window. Make sure the "Bring up terminal window after dialing" is selected.)

  1. Enter your username then, press <ENTER>
  2. Enter your PIN # and key fob display as one ten digit number then, press <ENTER>
    1. Your PIN # is a four digit number assigned to you when you received your SecurID key fob.
    2. The key fob display is the number in the window of your key fob. This number changes each minute.
  3. After additional information begins to appear in the window click the "Continue (F7)" button or you can just press your <F7>key.
  4. If you receive the message 'Enter your next token code' wait for the number on your key fob to change and enter only the new 6 digit number without your PIN (this will resynchronize your SecurID key fob).
