  1. Which airports does the state fleet service?

    Generally, any airports within 500 nautical miles, which includes all of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama. Most flights are to airports within Florida. Occasionally flights are to airports outside of 500 nautical miles (e.g., Washington, D.C., New York, etc.).

  2. Who can fly on state aircraft?

    On-demand executive air transportation is provided to senior state officials and employees travelling on official state business on a priority first call, first serve basis. The prioritization of flyers is assigned using the following 3-level priority schema:

    Priority 1 Flyers are:

    • Governor
    • Lieutenant Governor
    • Member of the Cabinet (i.e., Attorney General, Chief Financial Officer, Agriculture Commissioner)
    • President of the Senate
    • Speaker of the House of Representatives
    • Chief Justice of the Supreme Court

    Priority 2 Flyers are:

    Justices of the Supreme Court, appointed secretaries and executive directors of the executive branch, chairpersons of standing committees of the Legislature, chairpersons of the Public Service Commission and the Parole Commission, and the Chancellor of the Board of Regents.

    Priority 3 Flyers are:

    other authorized persons (i.e., state employees).

  3. How many and what type of planes does the Bureau of Aircraft Operations use for conducting official on-demand air transportation?

    The Bureau operates the following three aircraft:

    • King Air 300 (N100FL) twin turboprop, 2 crew / 7 passengers.
    • King Air 350 (N102FL) twin turboprop, 2 crew / 9 passengers.
    • Citation Bravo (N104FL) twin turbofan jet, 2 crew / 8 passengers.
  4. How are flyers charged for the use of the aircraft?

    The direct cost portion of the operating costs are billed monthly to the respective flyers based on the following rates:

    • King Air 300 (N100FL): $825 per flight hour
    • King Air 350 (N102FL): $975 per flight hour
    • Citation Bravo (N104FL): $1,200 per flight hour

    A pro rata share of the indirect/fixed operating costs (a.k.a., Subscription Fee) is billed annually to the respective flyers in September/October based on the amount of flight hours utilized during the recently completed fiscal year.
