Database Search
The State Facilities Inventory group of the Department of Management Services, Division of Real Estate Development and Management, maintains a database of State owned buildings with 3,000 square feet or more managed by State Agencies.
SFI staff architects assess nearly 4,000 facilities once every three years. Therefore the report information ranges from new to 3 years old.
SFI does not include individual repair or renovation items that cost less then $5,000.

Cycle Summary
During this cycle the following agencies facilities were inventoried and assessed:
DCIT, DJJ, DMS, DOE, DOT, DVA, AND MA.
The following historical data shows that the number of buildings and the square footage have gone up less than 1% this year as well as the average annual increase for the past 10 years. For the same 10 years the repair and renovation cost have increased $235,477,790 which is doubling the needed cost. The 10 year average is about 11% a year.
