MAIN DRIVE SHAFT:

Category V, telescoping drive shaft with all moving parts fully shielded, including U-joints with floating, cylindrical, collapsible covers. If a blade assembly is driven directly from the main gear box/power divider a slip clutch with safety guard must be installed in the main drive shaft. Shaft shall be designed for attachment to a tractor with a 540 RPM PTO.

CENTER/WING DRIVE SHAFTS:

Category IV, minimum, telescoping drive shaft with all moving parts fully shielded, including U-joints with floating, cylindrical, collapsible covers. Slip clutch with safety guard installed in center and wing drive shafts. Wing drive shafts must automatically compensated for the angle of the wing in all positions from 20 degrees below horizontal to 85 degrees above horizontal.

GEAR BOXES:

Fully enclosed and oil lubricated. The main gear box/power divider shall have a continuous rating of 160 HP; center and wing gear boxes shall have a continuous rating of 110 HP, minimum.

BLADE CARRIERS:

Round blade carriers (“dishpan” or “stump-jumper pans”) for each blade shaft.Independent rear PTO. Output shaft shall be covered with a safety shield.

BLADES:

Two free swinging, heat treated, cutter blades for each blade carrier.

FRAME & HOUSING:

All welded steel construction, 10 GA deck minimum. Tongue with safety chains and parking jack. Cut material discharged at the rear only, for safety purposes. Cutting height adjustable from 2 to 12 inches. Cutting height and raising and lowering of the wing sections will be done hydraulically. An alternate method of raising and lowering the wing sections must be provided. Hydraulic power will be supplied by the tractor. The Contractor shall furnish all necessary cylinders, long hoses, and male couplings.

SAFETY CHAINS:

Front and rear safety chains.

SUSPENSION, WHEELS & TIRES:

Six new laminated type wheels located at the rear of the cutter and placed inside the cutting swath. Four of the wheels must support the center section and one wheel must support each wing section. Spring loaded or rubber block mounted suspension.

SKID SHOES:

Left and right replaceable skid shoes.

PAINT:

Manufacturer’s standard paint and color.

CONDITIONS:

Equipment offered must be completely assembled, including options/accessories and shall have been thoroughly tested and ready for operation. Equipment must be equipped with all Manufacturers’ standard components and accessories. At a minimum the Manufacturer’s standard warranty for state and municipalities shall be provided. A copy of the warranty shall be provided with the bid. Manufacturer shall have a minimum of 25 units in operation within the past 2 years for this type of mower.
