MFMP Vendor Information Portal (VIP)
As MyFloridaMarketPlace evolves, so does technology and the opportunity for enhanced vendor offerings. MyFloridaMarketPlace released a new version of online vendor account tools October 26, 2009.
This new version of Florida’s Vendor Information Portal (VIP) provides Florida’s vendors with self-service tools for registration, account maintenance, performance rating reviews, and transaction fee reporting. In addition to these features, VIP provides vendors with an enhanced set of tools for interacting with and doing business with State of Florida agencies.
What’s New?
- Automated registration for State tools via new interfaces that enroll the vendor in each tool from one place. Vendors are now able to request email notification of bid opportunities from users across the State, including those outside of the state agencies using MFMP. Previously, vendors had to register for these notices separately through the VBS application, which resulted in only a fraction of vendors ultimately registering for the opportunity for email bid notifications. The new interface helps increase registration in the future to further competition for all State business. Today, only 7,000 of the over 100,000 MFMP registered vendors are signed up within VBS.
- Simplified transaction fee reporting form includes features such as auto-calculated fields for transaction fee reporting and improved guidance when entering report information. In the past, some vendors experienced reporting of fees and calculations that took up to 45 minutes to complete each month. With the new system, and enhancements such as auto-calculation, this time is reduced to a fraction of that time
- A printer-friendly template is now available on more system screens providing a consistent look and feel when printing information entered into the application.
- New system architecture and technology improves overall system performance, availability, scalability, and maintainability. This includes enhanced capabilities to interface and communicate with other State systems, such as the Office of Supplier Diversity system.
What’s Improved?
- Updated user interface with a more personalized view. The customer interface is more user-friendly with streamlined navigation. Vendors now enjoy one-stop access to their registration information, current transaction fee reporting requirements, and agency-provided performance ratings.
- Improved navigation and informational tools such as simplified registration instructions and ‘Quick links’ that allow customers to jump to specific areas of the portal.
- Improved registration process via a ‘registration wizard.’ Vendors also save time as there are fewer clicks and screens required as part of the registration and account maintenance processes.
- Improved commodity code search capability assist vendors in quickly locating commodity codes applicable to their business.
