Governor Crist’s Florida Office of Economic Recovery
The Florida Office of Economic Recovery was established in March 2009 to manage the State’s ARRA activities and ensure Florida receives its fair share of the federal stimulus dollars and then infuses the funding into Florida’s economy as quickly and efficiently as possible. FlaRecovery.com is Florida’s ARRA web site.
The Office is responsible for the following activities:

- Tracking all federal stimulus dollars flowing into state and local governments, as well as to private businesses and non-profit organizations.
Acceleration
- Using the quickest methods possible to move the stimulus money into Florida’s economy.
- Maximizing the state’s use of available federal stimulus funds, including competitive grants.
Communication
- Establishing open and effective lines of communication with federal and state agencies, local governments, and the Florida Legislature to effectively and rapidly use federal stimulus funds.
- Informing the public about the status and progress of the recovery effort.
- Reporting to the Florida Legislature and citizens regularly about status of use of the stimulus funds.
Evaluation
- Measuring progress of recovery effort by tracking jobs created and retained.
- Ensuring recipients of stimulus funding are aware of federal requirements and that all parties comply with the provisions.
