Project Management Training
Section 287.076 of the Florida Statutes authorizes the Department of Management Services (DMS) to implement a program to train state agency employees who are involved in managing outsourcings as Project Management Professionals, as certified by the Project Management Institute.
A PMI-certified Project Management Professional must also be on any team an agency appoints per section 287.057(17)(b) of the Florida Statutes to negotiate a contract in excess of $10 million in any fiscal year.
DMS consults with other executive branch agencies to identify personnel to participate in this training based on requested need.The goal is to ensure that each agency has a sufficient number of Project Management Professionals to satisfy statutory requirements.DMS may remit payment for this training on behalf of all participating personnel.Anyone interested in pursuing this opportunity should consult with their agency chief of staff and then contact State Purchasing at PURCertification@dms.myflorida.com for more information.
