What's New in VBS - September 14th, 2007

For Advertisement Administrators:

VBS has a new Advertisement Type called "Public Meeting Notices"

Things to know about the Public Meeting Notices advertisement type:

  • Only use when you need to advertise a meeting not already included within a Solicitation or Agency Decision
  • At least one commodity code must be specified
  • Public Meeting Notices are a searchable advertisement type in the Vendor Bid System
  • Registered vendors will be sent email notifications for their begin dates and for any subsequent versions.

Transfering to a new agency? Now you can take your user account with you.

Steps to transfer you VBS login to a new agency:

  • While logged into the Vendor Bid System, select the "Account Status" link at the bottom of most pages
  • Select your new agency from the list and click "save changes"
  • Notify the VBS Department/Agency Administrator at the new agency
  • He or she can confirm your employment change and set your account permissions using the enhanced Security Administration function

For Department/Agency Administrators

Enhanced Security Maintenance Functionality

  • You may now specify a sort order on the "Security Maintenance" search page to help you quickly find user accounts.
  • If an existing user has changed his agency to yours in REGIS, you may now confirm that he works for you AND set his Security Level in a single operation.
  • You now have the ability to reset passwords and delete accounts for users in your agency.
  • The interface has been enhanced to show clearly what changes you are making, and to confirm after you click the "Save" button that the changes were actually made.
