Environmental Health and Safety
Maintaining a healthy and safe work environment at public buildings is an oversight task of the Division of Real Estate Development and Management. This involves all state-owned buildings that are managed by the Department of Management Services. These public buildings are utilized by state agencies to conduct their activities and by the general public who expect a healthy and safe visit when they conduct their public business. This task is focused on three categories:
Environment Management - Hazardous Waste Management & Disposal, Underground / Above Ground Fuel Storage Tank Management, Emergency Planning & Community Right to Know / E.P.C.R.A. Tier II, PCB Management Remediation & Disposal, Storm Water Management & Permitting and Environmental Studies & Remediation via Client Agency Agreements
Life Safety - Asbestos Surveys, Management Plans & Remediation, Lead Surveys, Management Plans & Remediation, Indoor Air Quality Management Testing & Remediation, Radon Control & Mitigation, Integrated Pest Management Program, Mercury & Universal Recycling Program and Emergency Power Generation for State Buildings
Safety Training - Environmental Health & Safety Training for Personnel and the Department of Management Services Technical Safety Program
