Time Entry Instructions

  1. People First Logo

    Log into the People First system using your User ID and Password (You can log into the system at https://peoplefirst.myflorida.com/logon.htm or by clicking on your People First desktop icon.).
  2. Click on the "Time and Payroll" tab at the top of your screen.
  3. Click on the "Attendance and Leave" icon.
  4. Select "Employee Time Entry" in the drop down menu, and click "Go".
  5. Select the current pay period. Then select the first week of the current pay period, and click "Edit" at the bottom of the screen. (You may have to select the up diamond in the pay period overview selection to view the first week.)
  6. Enter your hours (and hours type) for the appropriate days. Remember that your basic work week contract hours will default for you. If your hours worked is different (more or less) than the default, change the hours worked at this point.
  7. Click "Save" at the bottom of the screen after you have entered your hours worked.
  8. If you have an entry for a different hours type (such as annual leave, sick leave, on-call, etc.), select "Edit," record the appropriate hours type and time, then click "Save."
  9. Select the current pay period again. Then select the second week of the current pay period, and click "Edit" at the bottom of the screen.
  10. Repeat steps 6, 7 and 8 for the week selected. (Note: If there is a holiday within the current pay period, you do not need to enter it, as the system already handles this.)
  11. After recording all time and leave, select the "Submit for Approval" button. This will bring up a summary screen for you to review.
  12. Enter your "submit for approval" password (your log in password). Click "Submit for Approval." This will submit your timesheet to your supervisor for approval.

In addition, other features are available on the Time Entry drop down menu. For example, if you would like to submit any leave requests, or need to enter any deduction information, this is where you would find the links to complete those tasks. The most important action for you to take, however, is located in the "Employee Time Entry" drop down option. It is critical that you complete this task on time to ensure that you are paid accurately, and to give your manager enough time to approve your entries.
