Living Green Tip – Reduce Paper and 'Styrofoam' use
- At the grocery store buy loose produce instead of the plastic-wrapped styrofoam trays. Sure, you can recycle them at Publix, but who needs an extra chore?
- In the mailbox cut down on paper clutter by writing the Direct Marketing Association, PO Box 9008 and Box 9014, Farmingdale, NY 11735. One address is for telephone lists and the other for mailings, so you need to send the same letter to both addresses requesting they not sell your name to businesses.
- Reuse or recycle magazines and newspapers. Share a magazine subscription with a neighbor or donate your magazines to a nursing home, assisted living facility, doctor's office or school. Recycle if you can't find a second reader.
