~The Strategic Partnership Agreement brings together Panhandle resources for minority- and women-owned businesses~

PENSACOLA - This week the Department of Management Services Office of Supplier Diversity announced its Strategic Partnership Agreement with the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) program of the Florida Small Business Development Center Network (FSBDCN) at the University of West Florida in Pensacola. The Office of Supplier Diversity provides equity in contracting for minority- and women-owned businesses in Florida, and aligning now with FSBDCN will provide entrepreneurs with high-quality, one-on-one consulting, management training and information.

"As we work to promote business with state government for Florida's minority- and women-owned businesses, we recognize the efficiencies of partnering with resources like PTAC," said Office of Supplier Diversity Director Torey Alston. "This adds value for our customers in the Panhandle region of the state and maximizes benefits we each offer to these businesses and the communities they serve."

The Office of Supplier Diversity and PTAC will exchange information about programs and services, and support the educational offerings of each group. This cooperative approach provides a broader scope of assistance for minority- and women-owned businesses.

"The University of West Florida and the PTAC program are proud to support the fine work of the Office of Supplier Diversity," said PTAC Program Manager Laura Subel. "Minority- and women-owned businesses are critical to the state's economy and we want to be a leader in supporting them."
